There are two major categories of domains.

Top level domains (.com, .net, .biz, .co)

Sub domains (blogspot.com, weebly.com)

Top level domains:

You can have as many domains as you want till the time they are available.

                                Owners of these sites actually purchase hosting plans with unlimited domains and allow others to build websites, run advertising programs and earn through them.

                                Beginners are advised to use sub domains first as they are free so they don’t pose any threat to your money if something goes wrong. Once you become expert in site designing, SEO and marketing then you can shift to top level domains.

                                You can always shift to top level domains from sub domains if you have them registered.

                        Selection of domain name is very important in success of a website. A wisely selected domain name can increase the visitors many folds. ·         While selecting a domain name, your main focus should be your main keyword. Try to get the domain name that contains your main keyword (if only the keyword is not possible).
